This book will be the third installment of a trilogy that I have written with Cambridge University Press entitled The Trilogy of Hope. The first book, The Political Power of Protest (2013) explored how minorities voice their concerns to the government; the second book, Governing with Words (2016) addressed how the government considers and discusses these concerns of race; and this third book, Policies that Matter (expected 2020) will explore the effectiveness of public policy solutions that the government puts into place to address these concerns.
